FAQs

Find answers to your questions before joining a tour so that you can find out exactly what you want to know. If you have more questions please feel free to reach us via contact form.

An Irish Whiskey Experience is an opportunity to meet the people, hear the stories & immerse yourself in the places that make each brand unique. Our experiences offer you the chance to go deeper than a regular distillery tour, and pose questions to the Masters & Ambassadors behind each brand. We offer a range of all-inclusive, bespoke & tailor-made experiences to suit your needs & provide you with memories that will last a lifetime. From blending your own whiskey to having dinner among copper stills, we have an array of truly unique experiences waiting for you to discover.

We offer varied experiences around all major Irish Whiskey distilleries & brands. If you do not see an experience listed with a particular brand, send us an email. You can also check out our tailor-made whiskey experiences which we can cater entirely around your preferences.

Our vision is to create unforgettable experiences through unparalleled access to distilleries, the people, places & stories behind each Irish Whiskey brand, going above & beyond what’s in your glass & an opportunity to meet those behind the brands who are typically inaccessible to the general public. We offer everything from all-inclusive to tailor made experiences, every detail of which can be catered towards your budget, time frame & interest.

It entirely depends on the experience you have chosen with us. Experiences can last anything from several hours during an afternoon, a few days or a week! The duration of an experience will always be listed under it’s description on our website.

Yes. It is vital that dietary requirements are communicated in advance of all experiences.

Private, luxury transport is provided to & from every experience if required. All we require is your collection & drop off points, unless pre-arranged as part of an all-inclusive experience.

Guests must be 18yrs + to take part in all experiences.

The vast majority of the newer & modern distilleries are fitted with lifts & will be wheelchair accessible. However, there may be certain older distilleries where the tour has been adapted around the distillery as opposed to the other way around, and may not be wheelchair accessible. If you have any doubts or questions, drop us an email.

Absolutely. The majority of distilleries & bonders will stock their full range in their gift shop. Many also have distillery exclusive whiskeys available to purchase too. If for some reason a particular whiskey is not available we can help you source it.

In most cases, we encourage you to document & share your experiences! For the most part it is fine, however certain distilleries do not allow photos or videos to be taken inside production areas due to the high level of alcohol vapour in the air. It is always best to check if it is allowed at the beginning of an experience.

We can offer private tours, group tours & corporate tours & cater each experience to your needs & desires.

What your experience does NOT include:

  • Flights to Ireland
  • Travel insurance
  • Health insurance
  • VISAS/travel documentation

There is no specific dress code for any experience, however it is worth bearing in mind that Ireland can often experience all four seasons in a day, so it’s best to be prepared by wearing layers & bringing a light rain jacket! Sensible footwear is also recommended as there will be steps, stairs & uneven terrain depending on the distillery & experience. For experiences involving dinner, a smart casual dress code is acceptable.

Unfortunately children are not allowed on tours, as many distilleries & experiences do not allow children to participate in guided tours due to the high level of alcohol, strong aroma & high temperatures. Guests must be over the age of 18 to take part in one of our experiences.

All tours & experiences must be booked in advance in order to ensure the most organised, impactful & memorable experience, as well as respecting the time of the relevant venues, distilleries & representatives.

Some of the older & larger scale distilleries have a ‘silent season’ which involves a complete shutdown of all vessels for a mass maintenance period, usually lasting a month. This can mean certain areas aren’t accessible for safety reasons. This period is usually takes place in July & August each year, however it is always best to check before booking if an experience incorporates a distillery tour.

We accept payment via Stripe, a secure & efficient online payment processing platform. Stripe supports all major credit & debit cards, including digital wallets & even mobile payment options.

Our experiences are extremely unique in that they involve direct involvement with founders, blenders & distillers. We will always liaise with the relevant stakeholders prior to an experience being booked in order to ensure their availability & also respect their time.
